Greetings to Members of Western States Roofing Contractors Association:

WSRCA is proud to introduce and release a new set of below-grade waterproofing details as an addition to our comprehensive sets of low-slope and steep-slope roofing details. Enclosed for your review and potential use are a set of below-grade waterproofing details, which have been developed by Western States Roofing Contractors Association’s Waterproofing Committee.

WSRCA is pleased to provide this set of details for consideration and use by our Association’s Member Contractors, waterproofing designers, and manufacturer members. These details are provided in an effort to further assist you in your upcoming below-grade waterproofing projects with technically-oriented, quality-driven resources. The series of details depicts WSRCA’s general benchmark for adhered, below-grade, reinforced waterproofing membranes.

Background Information:
WSRCA has been a long-term leader in the roofing industry and has always strived to be at the forefront promoting weathertight roofing and building envelope systems for the Western United States. Numerous member contractors routinely complete projects with roofing and waterproofing systems, which are included as parts of their Project scope of work. Terminations of the waterproofing systems, either in the field or top-of-wall conditions, as well as transitions with typical cladding systems were also focused on and depicted in this series of details to facilitate quality installation and watertight integration of exterior envelope components. WSRCA’s Waterproofing Committee has discussed, at length, the variety of below-grade waterproofing membranes and systems currently available on the market. The Waterproofing Committee selected adhered waterproofing membranes as the baseline, below-grade waterproofing system to be depicted in this first series of waterproofing details.

In Closing:
Thank you for your participation in the western roofing and waterproofing industries and for looking toward WSRCA to provide its members with industry-leading technical assistance for use on your roofing and waterproofing projects.

Thank you for your support of Western States Roofing Contractors Association, and our active efforts to strengthen and advance technology and science in our industry, and combine them with the art of craftsmanship that the roofing and waterproofing trades have always relied upon to build well-performing watertight building envelopes, including below-low grade waterproofing and roofing assemblies.
